One Second Everyday 2018: My Entire Year Captured in a 6-Minute Video

Where does the time go? That was certainly a question that Kevin and I reflected back on many times this past year. 2018 marks the 2nd year that I captured a 1 second video clip every single day on my iPhone. I didn’t miss one day! Check out the full clip below —

The task of capturing a 1 second video every day began last year, after I heard about the phone app on NPR. Its founder explained that he created it to help people remember (and appreciate) just how much they did over the course of a year. It spoke to me — especially since, at times, I can’t even remember what I did the day before! The app is simple — and I can tell you that it does make me reflect back on my life. And not just because it’s sometimes stressful to remember to take a 1 second video!

Without a doubt, 2018 was a year of transition – full of many highs and some lows. And where to begin? On the amazing side: Kevin and I got married after 13 years together; traveled to England, Spain and Portugal for our honeymoon; and experienced fantastic birthday celebrations including Kevin marking his 40th in Alaska.

But it was also a tough year — learning my mom had pancreatic cancer and seeing the impact it had on her and the entire family.

We feel incredibly fortunate for all the travel as well as time we were able to spend with our family and friends this year. Here’s to 2019 — and another year of capturing 1 second everyday. You know, because it’s not every year that Kevin kisses a moose!
